Looks Like I Picked The Wrong Week To Stop.......

......winning.

I'm super busy this week, my family is sapping all of my time and energy. My focus needs to be on them right now.

I've had a lousy run since my last post, every day has been a loser except one, which was only a happy meal.

I haven't caught up my spreadsheets yet, but I think I was 2 for 21 on Sunday, 3 for 21 if you count the Pauly TOC. I have never seen such mail-it-in performances by as many teams, especially the Cardinals and Texans. Anyone who picked Matt Cassell to play in a snowstorm, I tip my hat to you. (And please play me as much as possible in the future.)

It looks like I will fall short in the BFFB, I'm actually pissed I even played it all the way through. Congratulations to Bonds, AlCantHang and Joe Speaker for their sheer dominance.

I have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season, not really the traditional stuff other people spout off about. I'm not religious or spiritual. I don't have any immediate family besides my siblings (and a parent). And I'm not particularly well off, although I haven't really been affected much by the current crises.

Most douche bags think appreciating what you have = lazy and unmotivated to get more. I think appreciating what you have = 50% of enlightenment. Think about it.

Happy holidays if you care about such things.

You're definitely NOT out of the running for 1st in the BFFB - I don't have *that* much of a lead & remember that Kev doesn't have a blog so you should get a decent bonus regardless of whether you end up 1st or 2nd. If you win this week I'd have to finish 2nd or maybe 3rd to end up on top.

Happy holidays to you and here's hoping that it stops snowing for a couple days already!

Incidentally, I think that TOC is playing for $170 total, not $150 + $170 in Blinders money, so payouts aren't quite as skewed in favor of individual week top performers.

FWIW, I think the payout plan was based on the assumption that there would be more participants, which would logically mean more people getting into the TOC and the individual week high score bonus would be more of a save in case of a bad TOC performance than what it is - essentially a double bonus.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if the series returns next year and if so what changes are made.

I do kind of wish I'd been keeping track of my results all along, b/c I'm curious as to just how profitable this has been for me - and with your streak of being in the points almost every single week it had to have been profitable for you as well.

Duh. All I have to do is go back and look at Blinders' blog for results. Apparently I should be fully awake before posting comments.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and the family. I did have Cassell but will avoid you in 2009. I am running just north of profitable for 2008. Hope to see you sometime during the holidays!
